Recipe: Healthy Shrimp Fried Rice

Here’s a great post-workout meal to up your nutrition that is super easy to make! This balanced meal takes items that are already a part of your “clean eating” plan and helps you mix it up a bit. Best of all it takes only a few minutes to make! You might already have these items cooked in your fridge if you are food-prepping!


  • 1 T Toasted Sesame Oil
  • one egg or 2-3 egg whites
  • 2 T Tamari or Gluten Free BRAGGS Aminos (or more to taste)
  • Drizzle of Agave nectar
  • 1/2 Cup Cauliflower Rice ( See Below for how to make Cauliflower Rice)
  • 1 Cup steamed broccoli
  • 1/4 Green Onion
  • 1/4 Chopped Red Bell Peppers
  • 5 oz cooked shrimp

Heat Oil in Sautee pan until hot. crack egg in pan and stir fry egg until cooked about 1/2 way. Toss in rice, broccoli and shrimp then Tamari or BRAGGS and stir to combine. once heated through, drizzle with Agave and serve!

Cauliflower Rice: There are two techniques for making cauliflower rice. You can either use a box grater with the medium-size holes traditionally used for cheese, or a food processor with an “S” shaped blade to blitz it into small pieces. With both techniques you’re aiming for little pieces the size of rice. One additional step I like is to press any excess moisture from the rice by transferring the cauliflower rice to a large paper towel or absorbent dish towel and squeeze/press to remove any remaining water. This ensures no excess moisture remains, which can make your dish soggy.

Note: To make this a great ANYTIME meal simply replace the rice with some finely chopped cauliflower and now you have a great low-carb alternative as well!
