History of Adventure Boot Camp
Dr. John Spencer Ellis, an innovator in the fitness industry for more than half his life originated the Adventure Boot Camp for Women concept. After years of research, hundreds of hours of instruction, experimenting with various teaching methods, camp formats, and nutrition programs, the Adventure Boot Camp method emerged. Dr. Ellis now trains personal trainers from around the world in this process and certifies them as Adventure Fitness Trainers authorized to operate and instruct their own Certified Adventure Boot Camp.
He began his life in fitness at age 12, and has continually educated himself in the areas of fitness, sports conditioning, medical advancements, education and business. In addition to being a world-renowned fitness expert, exercise therapist, life strategies coach and business consultant, he is the president of NESTA - the National Endurance & Sports Trainers Association & Spencer Institute.
John’s dedication to the study and practice of health and fitness has lead him to become one of the most diversely trained fitness professionals in the United States. He holds two bachelors degrees; one in business and the other in health science, an MBA, and a doctorate in education. He has more than fifteen medical and fitness certifications and is on the Advisory Board for the American Association of Personal Trainers and is a Fellow of the National Board of Fitness Examiners.
Dr. Ellis currently oversees operations at his facilities; the Spencer Escape Fitness Retreat in Big Bear, CA and the Spencer Wellness Center in Orange County, CA. And, since the late 1990s, John has operated and instructed an Adventure Boot Camp for Women in Orange County, CA.

Sign-up Process
Beginning with the 2012 calendar year, our Adventure Boot Camp program offers an ongoing open registration process - meaning you may join the program at any time - space permitting. We purposely limit the size of our classes in order to assure the quality and the integrity of the program. So, while you may register to join our camps at anytime; your ability to join right away will depend if there is space available for a particular camp site.
Our solution is to allow you to join our Only Results Fitness training studio group classes immediately following your assessment and then to step in to boot camp upon a space being available. If this is of any concern for you, please call our office during the hours of 9am-5pm.
All of our first time campers must attend the group orientation meeting or schedule a private pre camp evaluation at our Only Results Fitness personal training gym.
